Christmas Continued

Okay, I am still in a bit of a Christmas kick. Believe it or not I haven't decided what I am going to do for my family's card this year. Oye! I need to get a move on making a decision.

The good news is that I am trying a lot of different designs...which means more to share with you.

Here's my latest attempt.

I made this card using Sleigh Bells Ring. I love this little set. It has such wonderful possibilities!

I decided to used a limited amount of color in the image. I really wanted to play with the idea of minimalism here. The pine cone stamp in the background is from a retired set...but honestly I couldn't resist. This card just screamed for it.

On the top I used the twill tape and adhered the holly image.

Christmas

With the holidays upon us, I decided that my first post had to include a Christmas card. Here it is:

This card was created for my card class last month. The theme was Holiday cards.

I used the beautiful pine tree stamp from the Lovely as a Tree set. I also used the great ribbon from the mini catalog. You'll see that I love me some ribbon.

The little label on the bottom of the card was created using the hostess set Punches Three. I just cut off the top and bottom of the scalloped square.

And finally, as my WOW element for this card, I used the Dryer sheet technique to add some glitter to the image. If you haven't tried this technique yet, you should. It is super, super simple and give such a punch.

Here's how: First, stamp your image. Then you need to make the image into a sticker. You can do this a couple of different ways. I used the Xyron sticker maker. Make sure the image is face down going into the machine as you want the image to be the sticky side. Then place a used (but clean) dryer sheet over the image. Trim to size. And then for the finishing touch, sprinkle glitter over the entire image. Make sure to rub it into the dryer sheet. Dust off the excess glitter and mount your image as desired. WOW...it's such a great technique especially if you are going for a snowy look.

Hi Welcome to my blog. I am so excited to be starting this adventure. Hopefully I will inspire you to also enjoy the fun world of rubber stamping.

I can remember the first rubber stamping class that I went too. I had of course been to other "parties" that my friends had hosted for companies such as Princess House, TupperWare, and Jewelery companies to name a few. At my first Stampin Up party I remember thinking, Wow this is totally different from those other companies. I loved that I walked away with my own card. I still have that card today. Crazy isn't it. I bet we can all remember that moment when we encountered a life changing moment. Silly as it seems that was one of mine.

In starting this blog I hope to offer my experience in stamping as well as inspiration for others to tap into their creative side and experience the joys of rubber stamping. So grab a cup of coffee or tea, sit back and enjoy the ride.
